Clean & Green Campaign @ Valmiki Hriday on 11/12/13

Dirty Toothbrush

A little kid comes screaming out of the bathroom to tell his mom that he'd dropped his toothbrush in the toilet. So, she fishes it out and throws it in the garbage.

He stood there thinking for a moment, then ran to her bathroom and came out with her mother’s toothbrush, held it up and said with a charming little smile, "We better throw this one out too then, because it fell in the toilet a few days ago.

Moral J

Kids do learn (may be in funnier ways) when told about the importance of certain things in life. This includes socializing them so that they respect elders, cherish the company of their friends, study hard, help the needy etc., but most importantly on issues related to their health and hygiene.

The Clean and Green Campaign : Actions taken

The Clean and Green Campaign at Valmiki Hriday (on 11th December, 2013) was, therefore, organized to initiate the process of addressing cleanliness issues at the Home. It involved identifying key areas that need immediate attention, cleaning the Home, educating the kids about the importance of health and hygiene, and demonstrating them the ways in which they can maintain personal cleanliness.

Sk. Valmiki H Kishan – CEO deliberated upon how "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." He also educated the children on the ways in which one should address the issue of his personal health and hygiene.

With the active participation of our humble volunteers – Dilip, Goverdhan, Prabhu, Prasad, Harry, Shekhar, Naveen, Sheeba, Sandeeep, Rakesh, Komal we were able to accomplish most of our objectives. The children were visibly happy and helped the volunteers in cleaning their Home. They have promised to carry this exercise forward.
