Republic Day Celebrations 2013

The Constitution of India was formally adopted by the Parliament, and India declared itself as a "Republic" on January 26, 1950, a date thereafter celebrated annually as Republic Day in India.

On this occasion, Valmiki Foundation visited Bits Pilani Campus Hyderabad Shameerpet in association with all orphanage homes of Hyderabad Harmony, to celebrate Republic Day with the school children. They were about 800 students from all orphanage homes across the twin cities.

IGNITE'13, is a social fest planned for under-privileged kids from various orphanages in & around Hyderabad, by Ignite (a teaching initiative by the students of the campus) in association with the NIRMAAN chapter of BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus. About 800 school children (1st to 8th class) had taken part in the fest that took place in the BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus held on 25th 26th and 27th of January 2013. Valmiki Hriday children were invited for this event and all the kids participated actively.

The fest assured a practical, enriching and entertaining experience to the kids on studies, current world of opportunities through workshops on science exhibition, arts & crafts, star gazing, talks and other activities. This acts as a platform for the kids to disclose and show-case their innate talents.

The below activities were arranged for children, they had a chance to interact with the teachers and volunteers of BITS Hyderabad.
