Valmiki Foundation Soars with “Wings of Hope” – A Collaboration with TruJet Airlines
In a heartwarming initiative, the Valmiki Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of underprivileged children, has partnered with TruJet Airlines to bring joy and hope to the lives of destitute children through a unique program called “Wings of Hope”.
The Valmiki Gurukul, a home for destitute children, is a flagship project of the Valmiki Foundation, currently providing shelter and care to 45 children. The foundation’s mission is to maximize the benefits for the maximum number of beneficiaries for the maximum duration, focusing on sustainable development.
The idea for the “Wings of Hope” program stemmed from a simple request made by one of the children at the Valmiki Gurukul, who expressed a desire to see an airplane up close. This sparked the imagination of Valmiki Hari Kishan, one of the directors, who then worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality.
After several attempts to collaborate with various airlines, TruJet Airlines, a regional carrier, stepped forward to celebrate their 3rd anniversary by offering joy rides to 300 destitute children across their network. The Valmiki Foundation enthusiastically embraced this opportunity, and the “Wings of Hope” project was born.
The launch of the project was marked by a special press conference, where TruJet’s CFO and CCO expressed their commitment to the initiative. To add further momentum, Pratyusha Support, a renowned non-profit organization, joined forces with the project, bringing in the star power of Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya to flag off the first batch of children on their journey to Bellary (Hampi).
The project also received the invaluable support of Padmashree Dr. Manjula Anagani and Mrs. Universal Rumana Sinha, who escorted the children onboard and motivated them throughout the experience. The Rotary Club of Vijayanagar Steel City and JSW provided excellent accommodation, sightseeing, and sumptuous meals for the children during their journey.
Over the course of one year, TruJet Airlines has committed to airlifting 300 children from the Valmiki Foundation, giving them the opportunity to experience the joy of flight and expand their horizons. The Valmiki Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to TruJet’s CCO, Mr. Raghavan, CFO, Mr. Vishwanat, and the coordinator, Mr. Srinivas, for their unwavering support and dedication in making the “Wings of Hope” project a grand success.
This collaboration between the Valmiki Foundation and TruJet Airlines not only brings smiles to the faces of the underprivileged children but also serves as a shining example of how corporate social responsibility and community outreach can create a lasting impact on the lives of those in need.
